THE COMMENTS BELOW  REGARD
THE PROPOSED FUTURE EXIT TO G.S.
_______________
This was discussed at the Cold Spring Council Caucus
on Nov 10, 2014
____
These are excerpts from past old City of Cold Spring Council and
Planning & Zoning meetings
concerning the addition of another exit / entrance
for the Granite Spring Community.

A Summary and Background regarding those meeting minutes
A requirement for the developer when this community was approved was to provide two (2) entrance/exits. One was provided at the Buning Ln traffic light.  Another was proposed to be connected from Sandstone to Darlas Drive below it and connect to Pooles Creek Rd. This was deemed as "non-feasible" because of the grading needed and the cost of re-doing Darlas Dr. Since property around the community was so expensive for the developer to procure to create another entrance/exit, a deal was made with the city whereas Fischer deposited a sum of money, about $125,000 and was permitted to opt out of having to creaate any other entrance/exit.

The plan was then made to keep this money in escrow to develop another exit here by the city when nearby property is developed and access and exit from Granite Spring can be included in that development.  The area mentioned is that area at the intersection of East Alexandria Pike where the traffic light is.

Meantime, the old drive in movie site was developed into an apartment complex and the city required that developer to provide access to their exit/entrance to Granite Spring residents as part of their permit to build.  The road they provide use to for us is owned by them.

Someday, since there is money accured to build a road by the city, it may happen when further development is done in the area.
